Good Morning My Fellow West Virgian's and Mountaineers. Candidate John Orem, who was narrowly defeated in the primary election in our County of Berkeley has decided that he is not done. Mr. Orem per his Facebook Account has announced that he will be running as a Write In Candidate for the General Election. We need change and a stronger leader for our Communities.

Today May 22nd 2012, I john Orem filed a statement of candidacy as a write in candidate for Sheriff of Berkeley co. I decided to do so after overwhelming urging from my voter base. The primary Sheriffs race in Berkeley county ended up with the three top candidates all getting approximately 2700 votes each. It would be unfair of me at this time not to run when 30%of the voters are voting for me. I believe come November I can change that number to 60% by spreading my message and letting more people in this community know why the majority of law enforcement in this and surrounding counties support me as the new Berkeley Co WV Sheriff. I have the Law enforcement back ground that is only rivaled by the current Sheriff and a management history that none of the candidates can compete with. Many ask how do I think I can win as a write in, and I know being a write in is a challenge, But the people in this county need a change for the positive. I have a very motivated base and I believe the only reason I am not currently the republican nominee is because my base was sure that I would win 3 to 1 and felt no need to vote in the primary. That’s evidenced by the less than 10% turn out. But come November I will do my best to make sure every voter knows who I am and what I am about and take this election by storm.
